The food habits we develop in childhood often stay with us for life. In Tulsa, where families value tradition and community, many of these habits begin around the kitchen table. What children eat, and how they eat, shapes their health, mood, and relationship with food well into adulthood.

This exposes children to poor-quality food environments. Children cannot only reach the fast food restaurants easily, they also can afford buying the foods with their pocket money.

Poor food habits were more prevalent than healthy eating habits for both sexes and in the 1416-year-old. Overall, poor food habits were observed across the nutrition status spectrum with a higher percentage among underweight adolescents.
According to the food habits score, the females were classified into 3 groups: poor (=9 marks). The 24-hour dietary recall for 3 days was also done, and nutrient intake was calculated. Also, body weight, height, and BMI were determined.
