This page is a 2025 snapshot built from the latest globally comparable time window available in major public series (roughly 20222024). Energy intensity reduction is interpreted as the year-on-year percentage decrease in primary energy intensity.
Lower-middle-income regions, often overlooked in analyses, will see large potential future resi-dential energy savings from energy intensity reductions. Harnessing this potential will include, among other policies, stricter building efciency standards in new construction.

FAA may exclude any building from the energy intensity reduction requirement by demonstrating all of the following four findings (EPAct 2005 102(c), amending 42 USC 8253(c)(1)(A)): (1) Energy requirements are impracticable (see subsection (b) below)

This particular example perfectly highlights why Building Energy Intensity Reduction is so captivating.

Table D, and energy intensity reductions for commercial buildings are found in Table E. Achieving the mission targets will also require performance monitoring against specific retrofit process goals.
d. Appendix I of this Order lists guidance and resources pertinent to energy intensity reduction, energy efficient data centers, performance contracting, sustainable buildings, renewable energy, metering, building evaluations, benchmarking, and energy management.
